Three Nines Children’s Charity is delighted to announce that it will be exhibiting at the Blue Light Show on 1–2 July, where the team will be showcasing a range of initiatives designed to support children and families affected by trauma and hardship following incidents attended by the emergency services.
The event provides an opportunity to connect with emergency service professionals, safeguarding practitioners, victim support organisations and partners from across the UK who share a commitment to improving outcomes for children and families.
Emotional First Aid and Calm & Care Kits
Visitors to the Three Nines stand will be able to learn more about the charity’s pioneering Emotional First Aid initiative, including the development of Calm & Care Kits.
Developed in partnership with Learning Resources UK and BMT Consultancy, Calm & Care Kits are designed to provide comfort, reassurance and age-appropriate emotional support following distressing incidents, helping support children in the immediate aftermath of trauma.
Importantly, each kit includes a QR code linking children and families directly to Three Nines, helping create a pathway to ongoing support beyond the initial emergency response.
Magical Days Out
Three Nines will also be highlighting its growing Magical Days Out programme, delivered in partnership with Merlin’s Magic Wand.
The programme provides opportunities for children and families affected by trauma and hardship to enjoy special experiences together at attractions including LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, Alton Towers Resort, Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures Resort and SEA LIFE centres across the UK.
Visitors can find out more about becoming a referral partner and how eligible children and families can access support through the programme.
Hope After Hurt Lottery
Visitors can also learn more about the Hope After Hurt Lottery, which helps fund support services for children and families affected by trauma and hardship.
As well as supporting a worthy cause, players are entered into weekly and monthly cash prize draws, giving supporters the chance to win while helping children and families access the support they need.
Anne Campbell Gunn, Founder and CEO of Three Nines Children’s Charity, said:
“The Blue Light Show provides a fantastic opportunity to engage with the professionals who are often first on the scene when children experience traumatic incidents.
We are looking forward to sharing our work, building new partnerships and highlighting the importance of ensuring children receive support not only during a crisis, but after the blue lights fade.
Whether it’s through Emotional First Aid, Magical Days Out, practical support or our wider family services, our focus remains helping children and families move from moments of crisis towards healing, hope and resilience.”
