Three Nines Children’s Charity Secures National Lottery Funding to Develop Listening Ears

Three Nines Children’s Charity is delighted to announce that it has received funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to support the continued development of Listening Ears – its trauma-informed emotional support service for children and young people who have experienced trauma.

Made possible thanks to National Lottery players, this funding will enable the charity to expand the service, reaching even more children and young people with confidential, after-school support where they can open up, feel truly heard and begin their journey towards healing.

Listening Ears offers children and young people a safe, confidential space to talk about their experiences, feel heard and access early trauma-informed emotional support. Thanks to this funding, the service will be expanded, enabling Three Nines to support even more young people at a crucial stage in their recovery.

Anne Campbell Gunn, Founder and CEO of Three Nines Children’s Charity, said:

“We are incredibly grateful to The National Lottery Community Fund and to National Lottery players for making this funding possible. Every child deserves someone who will listen without judgement, especially after experiencing trauma. This funding will allow us to expand Listening Ears, helping even more young people access the compassionate, trauma-informed support they need to heal and rebuild their confidence, resilience and hope for the future.”

Delivered after school, Listening Ears ensures support is available when many young people need it most. By offering early intervention, the service helps children process the impact of trauma before challenges become more deeply rooted, giving them the opportunity to move forward with the right support around them.

This funding marks an important milestone in the continued growth of Listening Ears, enabling Three Nines to reach more children and young people when they need it most. By providing early, trauma-informed intervention, the charity aims to ensure no child has to face the impact of trauma alone.

Three Nines Children’s Charity extends its sincere thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund and to every National Lottery player whose participation helps fund life-changing projects in communities across the UK.
