At Three Nines, we support families facing some of life’s hardest realities. When a child’s life is taken by violence, the trauma echoes through every part of family life. That’s why we are working to create real, lasting impact for children and families whose lives have been shattered by crime and trauma.
Pagan’s family is one of many who remind us why this work matters.
Her daughter, Ella-Rose, was just shy of two years old when her life was taken in a horrific act of violence by a trusted childminder. Since that day, Pagan and her family have carried the weight of unimaginable grief – grief that especially affects Ella-Rose’s big sister, who feels her absence every day.
Through our partnership with The Principle Trust Children’s Charity, Pagan’s family were offered a supported respite break to Blackpool – a chance to step away from the pain, be together, and begin making happy new memories.
In Pagan’s words:
“What an amazing holiday to Blackpool we have had. The caravan was perfect and in the perfect location too. We were minutes away from all the main attractions.
My children had an absolute blast on all their activities – dinosaur fossil excavation, bug hunt, swimming, friendship bracelet making, plant pot making, and so much more.
There’s so much to do to make those perfect memories with your little ones, and on the days when the weather wasn’t great, the caravan was packed with DVDs, books, and puzzles.
It was just perfect from start to finish. Thank you to The Principle Trust and Three Nines for making this possible.”
We know that no break can undo the pain, but time away can offer something just as powerful: the chance to reconnect, to laugh, to rest – and to remember that joy still exists.
Chief Executive Anne Campbell Gunn said: “It’s a privilege to support families like Pagan’s who have been through so much and it’s heartwarming to hear their positive feedback.
The partnership between Three Nines and The Principle Trust marries the best of both organisations and provides meaningful support for families that lasts long after the week away.
We are currently exploring how we may bring this ‘magic’ to more children and families who have been impacted by crime.”
Together with The Principle Trust, we’re proud to stand beside families impacted by trauma and crime, helping them reclaim moments of happiness and hope -one memory at a time.
Do you know a family affected by crime who could benefit from time away to rest and reconnect?
